Change the name in BLheli_32 Suite
#1
If i connect to the ESC in BLHeli suite, version 32.8 i see the name of the manufacturer and type of ESC.
I got a prototype ESC from a company and i want to change that name to my own brand.
The manufacturer say i can do that in BLHeli, in the firmware.
I asked them to send me the firmware but they say it is open source and it is in BLHeli.
But i tried everything, i cannot change the name of the ESC, the manufacturer stays visible.
So... where does BLHeli gets his firmware from, because when i flash i see the ESC manufacturer name in the file.
Or.. how can i change the name if the ESC.
As example, if i use a HGLRC Trex, it says on top of the screen HGLRC Trex, how can i change that to for example, Trexxie?

Thanks,

GJ

You will need skills to compile your own target based on the blheli_s firmware found on github: https://github.com/bitdump/BLHeli

Really ?

I am not a programmer but I'm pretty sure that all your ESC manufacturer did was download blheli from that link and put their name in a file somewhere and loaded it on the esc.

Pretty clear to a noob like me, seemed like a very useful answer.
