ok so i have 3 of these micro-x now and was just wondering if anyone has successfully changed one over to beta flight?

Hi Courven,
no these quads have a 8-bit processor which limits them to firmware like Multiwii only (same type of processor on an Arduino).
To run Betaflight/Cleanflight you need 32-bit STM F1/F3 MCU.
