Cam feed freeze - everything else ok
#1
Had a scary moment where my feed froze after a roll.

Here's a DVR of the event - the small screen is the GoPro overlayed on the video :

I took off, flew a tiny way, did a barrel roll and the feed in the goggle froze. I crashed as a result. OSD seemed to still be working fine. In the video, I flicked to Pit Mode and back again to see if it kicked the feed in again - it didn't. Voltage, Mah etc were all still showing live. Warnings were too - as I tried to arm and it would display approptiate messages. So it was literally the cam feed.

Could it have been a voltage spike causing issues? Someone said it was a goggle issue - but surely the OSD wouldn't still show? (EV200D goggles)

Cam is wired to the vbat. Sharing a ground with the VTX.

Cam is a Foxeer Toothless 2 Nano Starlight
Fully charged 4S lipo
FC: Pacer F7
ESC: Velox 45A

I have similar issues in one quad and the reason for it a weak video cable from camera to FC.
FC has an OSD chip, usually video signal goes CAM -> FC(OSD) -> VTX or CAM -> VTX -> FC(OSD) ->VTX.
The problem seems to be somewhere before that FC(OSD). With that role, wire moved and lost proper contact.
Break can be in the wire, not only on the ends or on the connections.

In my case the problem gives:
* General noise in the video feed
* sometimes freezed image / white image / colorized image
* OSD working perfectly

Yea i agree with you, the fact that the image froze but OSD still seem to be updating, suggests it might be either the FPV camera or the OSD chip on the FC.

I would guess its the camera, since the OSD chip has no memory it can only send out the image it is receiving and it was receiving a frozen image (also the second frame that came through with all the noise on the bottom looks just like a faulty camera image). If your camera is still working, you might try to run it off regulated voltage like the FC's 5v rail, but if it happens again then likely the camera is defective.
