Cable continuity / resitsance tester?
#1
hello our collective mind Smile

today during the discussion with Konrad i found that i'd love a tool that could assess if my cable/joints are working as expected,
the initial idea is that by cable Fi and length you should be able to estimate the resistance that you should get ( ofcourse +- as it is not a perfect world)...

what would be my goal? to check if my cables are still "whole" not a set of pieces that are just connected by the silicone..
ideal scenario that poped into my head, would be to measure just after the solders are made, to get a baseline, and then once in a while do a test and see the degradation, (what would be the safe delta?)

now, are there such tools? im sure that pro electronic guys/gals already had such issue and im curious how they resolve it?

or you guys/gals just fly till it  Poop

Whistling i always ensure mine are fine... not waiting for Poop to happen, right Konrad?
All the best

Curently flyable: Nox 5, Minimalist 112
Bench / in progres: fixing Nox 3,  Scrap
thinking about building: 450

Iwould fly until it is $hi#. But I usually crash so hard, that I have to rebuild before my wire will ever degrade.

What happened... I don't remember, I was too busy searching the bushes  ROFL
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

A wire or solder joint is either conductive or it's not which can be tested with the continuity mode with a mulitmeter.
Yes there will be resistance in a piece of wire but it's very very small which is very difficult to measure with the tools we normally use.
I don't think that's something we should worry about lol Big Grin Like Vooddo said, fly it until it stops working LOL
