BF version
#1
I'm new to this and I keep hearing about different BF versions. Everyone is talking about the new BF 4.2. How do you find out which BF version I have? I can't find anywhere where it says which version I have. The only thing I see says 10.6.0, there's no 4.1 or 4.2 or anything like that anywhere I can find.
I asked Joshua Bardwell and I got a screwball answer from him.
He claims that it's in the upper left corner. But that number up in the left corner just shows what firmware version's on the fc that's plugged in. It changes according to what fc is plugged in, it's not the version of betaflight.
I've asked this question to a number of people and keep getting the same non answer. Everybody keeps referring to the firmware version that's installed on the flight controller.
I don't see why I'm having such a hard time getting a simple answer to what should be a simple question.
People ask me what version of BF i'm running but I don't have a clue and it seems like I'm speaking a language nobody understands when I try to inquire about how to determine what version I have.
Does ANYBODY have an answer??? Can ANYBODY explain this version nonsense that everybody talks about but nobody seems to understand?
The ONLY thing I see on BF is configurator 10.6.0. There's nothing anywhere that I can find to confirm which version of software I'm running. Like I said earlier, everybody that replies with an answer keeps telling me it's in the upper left hand corner. That's the firmware version on the fc, not the BF version.
I don't know, maybe I'm crazy but this is nuts. People don't seem to know the difference between the fc firmware and the version of BF SOFTWARE.
Can anybody explain this????

Go to the CLI tab in Betaflight Configurator and type "version" (without quotes) and them press the <ENTER> key. That will show you the firmware version. It's also shown at the top of a dump (run the "dump" command in the CLI tab and look at the information in the header information).

10.6.0 is the version of the configurator. Are you definitely connected to the quad? What happens if you plug it in and click the 'Connect' button in the top right?

The ground is for dead people.
