I had my first crash (could rescue the drone) and the battery is a little bit damaged, a little bit of the plastic is broken and one cell scratched, I think it's only superficial but I would appreciate any inputs on that. I attach a picture.
At least do the first few charge cycles in a safe place just in case. That doesn’t look like it has a punctured or dented envelope (the silver wrapping). Good chance it is just fine.
Brings up a question. I have ripped that plastic 'shrink wrap' exterior on a number of batts, without noticeably harming the battery inside. What the best way to re-wrap or seal that shell to get some more flights without the added risk of one less layer of protection?

I usual use Polyolefin shrink tubing on my lipo to protect them from puncture. The clear PVC wrap that comes from the manufacturer has very little protection. It does add a hair of weight, but you can always take the manufacturer wrapping off first.

Awesome, exactly what I was wondering. Thanks!

Thank you for the replies! Helps a lot, I'll keep that one then, I crashed another one and that doesn't look that good, the cells moved from where they're supposed to be. I'll destroy that one.
the clear pvc wrap from the manufacturers doesnt protect, but as xD benefit xD they are very slippery the only good thing of the wraps provided by the manufacturer i see, these pvc wraps arent to heavy, but thats protection against weight.
