4 Thanks mstc. I follow you... The ep1 rx is flashed with 3.3.1 with a passphrase set. When it didn't connect I tried to set the passphrase (with the same one) from the wifi interface. When that didn't connect, I used the wifi interface to reset it back to defaults, which should be correct anyway... Model Match is not on. The wifi interface on the betafpv board that works as expected looks identical.

52 Assume the EP1 LED is slow flashing? If you can get into the wifi interface, then I guess it is not an issue with the UART RX pulling it into bootloader mode. Also don't think it is the temperature issue, have not heard Happymodel having that issue. Is this a new RX or it was working before? Maybe try the ELRS discord?

4 Hmm. I'll have to look into discord. The receiver is a Happymodel EP1 purchased... probably over a year ago? I have another purchased at the same time. I started with the other one in this build but swapped it out before I figured out the 18 second flash window thing. I could swap it back in and start the update from scratch... I think I have a newer EP2 around here somewhere as well... I can order a new EP1 also, since I need a new charger.

4 Thanks iFly! I've put a couple more packs through this guy. No problems so far.
@hugnose_bat: You were spot on with your throttle prediction. I flew a 4S pack on Sunday. It hovers at around 13% and the majority of my cruising was in the 15%-25% range. For testing, I added 100-75-50 % throttle scaling to a three position switch. I find it interesting that at 50% it's easier to fly but it only bumped my throttle range a small amount, to around 20%-35% used. It's super floaty, and I feel like I want more power in the top end.
Perhaps throttle expo might be a better approach to expanding low/mid throttle resolution without capping top end as well. It looks like Oscar has an article on that... It's not doing anything weird in flight but It doesn't inspire much confidence either. It's on defaults right now, except I dropped the loop to 2K and enabled bi-directional d-shot. Maybe I'll check out the BF presets and see if there's anything that looks suitable.
