4 bolt motors on mob 7 v3 frame
#1
Hey all,

Has anyone had any luck with getting 4 bolt motors to work on a mob 7 v3 frame made for 3 bolt motors?

I've got a betafpv 75x frame that's had one to many crashes, ordered a couple of the mob 7 frames but only noticed after i received them that they are for 3 bolt motors.

Would be nice to use them, if not they can go in the box for a rainy day project.

Edit: I can't type

As long as three of the holes lines up, you should be good to go. But the spacing on the Mob 7 frame might make it impossible for 4 holes motor mount.

sadly that frame doesnt match, its the strange sort of choices by betafpv; no pne else on the marked does 4hole mount with m1,4 screws... there are much things done by betafpv for incompatibility between their üroducts and common way we build

i would suggest to gets ome decent happymodel 3 screw motors :-)

The best way is to use a little brain before purchasing. I design my setups for many months in my head. This way I'll end up with a lot of things that are side thoughts and that I'm interested in checking out.

I should clarify, I know they won't work. I was wondering if anyone has tried drilling new holes or using adapters with this frame Smile

Five bucks, probably less cost and brain damage vs. adapters, has three hole and four hole patterns.

Meteor 75 whoop

Hope this helps.

Thanks Wizofwires, i've already got the 75x frame (as it fits 2s) however it turns out to be not that strong. I've ordered a few 75x v1.1 frames for now (hopefully they last longer!)

Yes, have done it.

No, its not a good idea. It is the same thing as the 3" or 3.5" props that have adaptors for 5mm single or 2mm plus centre pin. They are just MUCH weaker across the hub where strength is needed.  (Have had those fail in flight from flips, ones that were new and had not had impacts!)

Iyoha is right, if less than polite in presentation manner!

Thanks for the replys all! I've got the right ones on order now. Used one of the mob 7 frames i had as a test for dying, so i now have a blue/purple mob 7 frame i think i'll sell. I think my 75x frame might have a few more crashes left in it before the others arrive.

I'm looking to do something similar in a few weeks. I want to recreate the Geelang Anger 75 for shit and giggles. The motors use a 9x9 mount pattern so might need to use a custom frame. Worst case I need a custom 75mm carbon fibre frame which may not exist. Maybe time to learn how to design frames in autocad.

Sounds fun! Thats half the fun of this hobby (RC hobby in general), try new things and see what happens! or we could all use a little brain and pre-plan our builds Wink

Slightly bigger for up to 50mm props, but 9x9 motor mounts. Neat looking little frame.

Ha, reminds me of the RotorX rx122 but with 2" props instead of 3.
