2216 900kv motors?
#1
Hi
Would there be any use for a set of Sunnysky v2216-11 900kv motors in a largish quadsuch as a long range 7 inch?
They currently turn 10 inch props on 4 cells on a self build quad with a DJI naza and separate 30a escs. Could any of this especially the motors be reused?

Not quite sure what you are asking? Anything can be repurpose. Are you looking for ideas for none quad related use?

I read what you say as wanting to repurpose what you have into a 7" Long Range.

I suggest you search 7" Long Range Quadcopters, select shopping, and look at their specs.

My feelings are that the motors are not ideal, as 28x6 / 28x7 and 1300 - 1400kV are more usual.

Forget the Naza.

Given the likely age, the separate ESC "might" be usable, but are unlikely to offer modern firmware facilities and 45A/50A is more usual for a 7".

Frankly, I'd sell what you have if poss and move on!

The Sunnysky V2216-11 900kv motors are dinosaur motors that were released in 2013/2014 and are really designed to be used on wings.

Looking at the thrust specs of the motors they aren't going to be powerful enough for a 7" quad. The figures below are for 10" and 11" props, so for 7" props the thrust is going to be much less. A 7" quad is going to have an AUW in the region of 800-1000g, so the thrust produced probably won't even be enough to lift the quad off the ground, let alone fly it and keep it in the air.
