Zeus AIO F411 binding, but not(?)
#1
Hi folks.

I ordered a Rekon35 back March and i'm still trying to figure this thing out.

I'm having a major headache with my FC, which is a Zeus(HGLRC) AIO STM32F411 with ELRS receiver integrated. I've followed all the instructions to a tee for getting my Jumper T-pro(with ELRS) bound, probably about 4 times. So far i've managed to get my FC/Receiver to bind with my transmitter, but when i go into Betaflight my gimbals have no response and the motors won't fire up with batteries installed and disconnected from Betaflight. The FC has 2 solid red lights and a flashing blue(1/second), telling me FC is bound to transmitter.

I've used ExpressLRS Configurator(v1.5.10) to update both the Jumper T-pro and FC to the latest firmware(3.2.0) with the binding phrase identical tttttt, again probably about 4 times and rolled back to 3.1.0 the last time.

Betaflight shows "RX_Failsafe" >> "No Valid Signal Receiver Detected" in the setup tab.
Verified that Model ID is correct on both Receiver and Transmitter.

Eported txt file from Betaflight CLI >> Tasks, status, diff all

FC sure is behaving like Model ID is incorrect. I'd appreciate some help, as i'm about ready to just give up. Not much support from the seller either.
Thanks.

On the receiver tab in betaflight, have you selected “SPI rx” in the drop-down menu for “”Receiver Mode”, and selected “EXPRESSLRS” in the drop-down menu for “SPI Bus Receiver Provider”?

Edit, if you have, and you still have no stick movement in betaflight, try setting the packet rate on your transmitter to 250 or 500. (Not D250, D500, or F500).
Dangerous operations.

Disclaimer: I don’t know wtf I’m talking about.
I wish I could get the smell of burnt electronics out of my nose.

Betaflight won't allow me to select SPI rx in the Receiver tab and save, I try setting it to SPI rx, when I save and reboot it reverts back to Serial (UART) >> CRSF.
Currently I have UART 2 set to Serial RX, which seems odd to me, but that's what the Zeus AIO instruction manual says to set it at, but i'm wondering if that is for an FC that doesn't have the ELRS module integrated. I wouldn't know where to start with the Ports tab.
If there was a command that could let me force the SPI setting I would. You can see in the resources pinout in my attachment there is an SPI.
Strangely I have both TBS and ExpressLRS .lua files so i'm wondering if my Transmitter is messed up. I bought the Jumper T-pro from Newbeedrone.com.

I've added screenshots of Betaflight.
Thanks,
Tony

Edit: RSSI DBM flashing on my goggles. Thinking my RSSI isn't set up right.

I did a search and I’m not actually seeing a version of that FC with a built in ELRS receiver.

If you bought the ELRS version of the Rekon, then I believe it might have come with an external ELRS receiver installed.

In that case, your current receiver settings are correct in betaflight, and your ports tab is correct as well, assuming that it was installed on uart2.

I’m going to go ahead and assume that the manufacturer didn’t mess up the wiring when installing the rx, so, that would leave an issue with the firmware you flashed to the rx or your transmitter, or a transmitter setting.

I suggest hopping onto the ELRS Discord, they might be able to get you going quicker than I can:

Edit- quick suggestion: try it with a battery plugged in. It’s possible that the 5v pad the receiver is wired to only gets powered via battery, not usb. I know you said there were some blinking lights, but, given that I’m pretty sure you actually have an external ELRS receiver, blinking lights on the fc doesn’t tell us that the rx is powered up.

Also, if you had an spi rx, you wouldn’t have been able to flash it via the ELRS configurator/WiFi- the only way to update an spi based receiver is by changing the version of betaflight the fc is running.
Dangerous operations.
