This is more of a post reflecting on how much has changed in the hobby over the last few years.
I got into fpv pretty heavily back in 2018/2019, moving on from the dji tello onto proper hobby built quads. When I started betaflight was making inroads and cleanflight was on the way out. Analog fpv was king and premium oled goggles were yet to hit the market. 25.5mm x 25.5mm AIO designs were still only in the realm of whoops. Anything that had an integrated RX was frysky D8 with an arm's length range.
Now we have this sort of stuff.
Digital HD 1080P fpv transmission, sitting around 35ms latency with inbuilt control link (ELRS), 2S 12A capable ESC and F4 flight controller. All this packing in at approx 20 grams.
Taking a step back from all the pissing contests this technology attracts , the progress the hobby has made is just mind blowing!
There has NEVER been a better time for evolution in FPV, even with the never ending increases in cost.
I was interested in doing a Gartner Magic Quadrant on the vendors that are in the hobby. A quick take on the magic quadrant as a tool to compare vendors.

Some of my thoughts:
LEADERS:
Mateksys
TBS
DJI (fpv hardware only)
VISIONARIES:
Caddx
BetaFPV
JHEMCU
CHALLENGERS:
iFlight
Flywoo
NICHE PLAYERS:
Shendrones
There are some of my thoughts. I really believe in the visionaries association for caddx/betafpv and jhemcu - The irony given their QA but hell they do innovate.
What a time to be in the hobby....
The increasing cost is really hurting though
and now presents itself as a real risk to the hobby's prosperity.

What do you all think about the magic quadrant and where vendors should go?
Cheers,
