What are some good frames for cinematic FPV?
#1
After flying a BNF 5 inch drone for a while I want to build my own one. It's main purpose will be videography with a Gopro Hero 8. I ordered the DJI Goggles and the Caddx Vista and also have ordered the large Crossfire Transmitter for my Radiomaster Tx16s. What are some frames you can recommend? I've got told to get a AstroX 5 or a Apex 5 HD but they are both sold out near me and would take ages with shipping to my country. Are there any good alternatives you guys could recommend? (shouldn't be a cinewhoop)

the Apex is great but I would recommend kababs hyperlite glide or the geprc mark4. Where do you live? maybe we know some local frame manufacturers.

Before you decide for a frame do you want props in view or not? If not you might want to consider frames with dead-cat arms.

You can do cinematic work with a 5 inch, but I think you would be happier with a bigger platform, 6-10 inch.

Most of the cinematic pilots now are flying 7 inch quads.

There are lots of choices in 7 inch, but like Andreas said above, if you don't want the blades in view of the HD cam, you are better off with a Deadcat frame.  There are several deadcat frames to choose from.  The Source One, the FR7/FR7-G and the Project 399 Super G + to name 3.  The FR7s are open source and you can get the frames cut as you like.  Being open source there are all kinds of changes to the base frame if you desire.

I would recommend the FR7 for what you want and works best with the GoPro Hero 8

Thanks my friends for the answer. I am from switzerland but near germany where I could also buy stuff. I thought 5 inch would be a little bit more agile because I really want to chase my friends with their dirt bikes and for this 7 inch is more for longrange i thought. Yeah props should definetly not be in front of the camera. Sorry for my english I am still learning

I agree, it is better to have a 5” quad to chase dirt bikes and some longrange than have a 7” to do the same. It is a bit of a compromise..

Both the Iflight dc5 titan have deadcat arms and the glide is available with deadcat arms but the glide is hard to get in EU..

It is a bit of a misnomer that 7 inch quads are sluggish to turn and do tricks.  Probably for extreme freestyle, that is true.  But for cinematic, not so much.  But certainly a 5 inch will do what you want to do.

As an example of what you want to do, below are a few clips out from a video made by an acquaintance of mine.  These shots were made with a 7 inch.
