Keep your eyes open for a second hand one on ebay or one of the other selling sites. if you find a dirt cheap quad, even if it has issues (most are fixable), then maybe consider picking one up as a project. So stuff I see a lot of, broken Cetus (usually caused by someone turtling in grass or something similar and smoking the ESC). Cost to repair is a new FC, $30-40 depending on the FC needed. Moblite's seem to get broken easily and Meteor65's get broken easily too. Most just need a new motor or a new FC (5 pads need soldering on the Meteor65 to get video working, more on the Moblite).
Alternatively, start buying parts. So buy a 12A FC (or DarwinFPV do a nice 15A that's fairly cheap) with ELRS. Then when you have some more money, buy four 1002 14000kv motors, then a nice 75mm frame (or several, since whoop frames are dirt cheap), then a caddx ant nano and ovx303 vtx, then some props and a canopy. You can space this out over several months. You will also need a soldering iron, flux and solder (shouldn't cost more than $30-35). And lipos, probably XT30 connector GNB 1S and 2S Lipos. Buy say six 1S and six 2S for starters and the cheapest B6 clone charger you can find and an XT60 to XT30 adapter. Also at the same time keep an eye out for a cheap set of goggles and a radio. Total cost will be a bit more, but you can buy quality parts and you learn how to build it, which is knowledge you will need when you break it and you will break it.
Frames and motors get broken easily, if you smoke an esc you need a new FC (so don't turtle on anything that isn't flat ground, no grass, no trees, only flat clear ground, because if your props catch the grass and you apply voltage, they will overheat and you will kill it). In fact initially, don't use turtle, just go and pick it up.
Props get lost or broken a lot.
Buy a radio first and a copy of Liftoff if your computer will run it. Then hammer the sim while you build your quad (or until you can afford to buy one).
