VR why freznel lenses?
#1
I just got a vr setup and was surprised to see freznal lenses. Is there some reason vr has this but fpv does not? Is it supposed to make it feel like peripheral vision? It does not, but moving my head while looking straight forward rather than locking my eyes on an object sure does causes motion sickness that I don't get in Fpv.

Hi Steve,

Fresnel lenses also have their place in FPV. The box goggles typically use them, such as the good old eachine ev800d and a bunch more.
The lenses help you focus on the single screen that is very near your eyes, also giving the immersive experience.
Dual screen fatshark style goggles have a more limited field of view and you use the lenses to focus on and magnify the little screens.
It's a matter of preference at the end in FPV, but in VR you want the biggest immersive screen you can get.

The motion sickness is due to, in my opinion, the contradictory signals you are giving your brain. Your eyes are signaling motion but your balancing mechanism isn't getting any feedback because you are standing still. It takes some time to get used to.
