UART4 initialization failure
#1
Hi there I have reached out just about everywhere except this forum and I really need help.

Hi there I really need help I have purchased a speedybee mini Stack f405 and I opened the app on my mobile device to begin configuring the FC on my new drone build and the first time I entered I began changing the ports but must've accidentally changed something and now it won't allow me to enter

it's blocked me out completely. It wants me to "ensure the uart4 on the speedybee f405 mini fc has msp enabled"
But the problem is it won't allow me to re enter the configuration to enable it.
So pretty much what it's asking me to do I cannot access because I cannot get into it.

Can anyone please assist me.
This is my first drone build and I'm now stuck at this stage right when I thought I could get in the air.

Please don't spam the forum with the same post multiple times because different members will end up replying to different threads and it then just gets confusing with multiple threads running for the same topic / issue. I've now deleted the other duplicate threads.

You appear to have inadvertently switched off the MSP setting on UART4 which is how the Bluetooth connection communicates with the MCU. The only way out of that situation is to connect a USB cable to the FC from a computer or Android device (using an OTG cable), or use one of the SpeedyBee Adapter devices that connects to the USB socket on the FC so you can then access the Betaflight settings and either switch the MSP connection for UART4 back on, or reflash firmware to the FC which will also reset all the settings back to default values.

Thank you so much. For your response
I do not have a pc to connect it with a usb data cable and I only own an iPad instead.
Is there anyway I can reflash the firmware from the toolbox screen on the app? If yes how would I go about doing that?
Many thanks !!

Firmware flashing can't be done over Bluetooth. It can only be done over USB connection or via WiFi. For supposed "security" reasons, Apple devices don't support direct connections to a non-approved device via a USB cable, so your only option would be to try the WiFi flashing option, but I'm not sure if the SpeedyBee Mini stack has an onboard WiFi chip.

Go to the "Toolbox" in the SpeedyBee app and select the "FC Firmware Recovery" option. Then select "Betaflight" from the list and follow the onscreen instructions. Part of the process will involve you powering up the FC with a USB cable while holding the boot button in so that it is put into DFU mode. You will then connect to the FC in Bluetooth mode which will automatically switch it to WiFi mode for the firmware flashing process. If that doesn't work you will need to find someone with a computer so you can connect it via USB and then either just change the MSP setting on UART4, or re-flash the firmware entirely.
