TX12 not binding

I am new to the FPV hobby and decided to start off with the darwin babyape and I also have a tinyhawk 2 freestyle. I installed a R81 Receiver in the babyape. I am having trouble getting my transmitter to connect to either receivers on the quads. I've updated my TX12 and that did not seem to help I am really not sure what to do at this point.
