Travels with a FireFly Nano Baby
#1
I got one of these 1s FireFly Nano Baby's by Flywoo with the ultimate goal of slapping an HDZero setup in it to make a neat little HD Micro Cruiser, but first I decided to review the stock setup.

The video is a lot of fun, went to England, a Treehouse in Norway, Played with Cows, and even crashed in water... skip the unboxing part if not interested in boring details... Let me know what you all think!

Any tips, advice, or suggestions are welcome.  I'm trying to find a way to disable the VTX with is built in to the GOKU AIO board, any ideas?  Thanks!

I'll post the HDZero follow up video once I figure it out! lol

Cool video...glad to hear it passed the waterproof test! I've had a Firefly for over a year. I upgraded the vtx antenna, so my video link could keep-up with crossfire's range. So far I've sent it out over a kilometer with no issues. I wish there was a finder/beeper solution for nanos. They can disappear in tall grass. Happy flying to you! Thanks for sharing.

4:42 is the top of the mine workings. There's probably a mine shaft below some of them, capped of course. If you ever go back to Cornwall, GiantAntCowboy, be very wary when wandering around in those ferns, because not all mine shafts are capped, sometimes you just find a hole in the ground with a 20-30m drop of doom. I found several of them when I lived down there, even explored some of them. But those places are not for the unwary. Oh and don't buy into the touristy Lands End bollox. It's oversold nowadays. Plenty of better things to see and do in Cornwall, like the Eden Project and Lanhydrock. Also plenty of really awesome places to fly. If you ever watched World War Z, some of the places that you see in that film you can also fly at (the hill they fly over with a monument on it is above Redruth, for instance).

Wow, 1km pretty good for a tiny little quad like this! They definitely disappear very easily, especially since they are black and green camouflage lol!
I recently upgraded mine to HDZero, I’ll post a link to the video below, the upgrade was not as clean as I hoped…

Yea, I did later learn all about the various mines in that area while there, pretty interesting. I didn’t hear about any mineshaft exploration though, I would be very curious in that, a little too curious maybe… I definitely want to go back to Cornwall again and bring a proper 7” quad to really fly those cliffs. All I had on this trip was this tiny quad and a 3” cinewhoop, neither of which I trusted enough near the windy cliffs and ocean. Thanks for the tips!

Here’s what became of this quad, sort of a Dr. Frankenstein story…

Happy to hear feedback or questions, cheers!
