Hey guys, I'm struggling to bind my TX16S to my Eachine Trashcan (DSMX version). I put the quad in bind mode with set spektrum_sat_bind = 9 and saved. Quad is in binding mode/ Red and White bottom leds started blinking. On my TX16S I selected Internal RF Multi DSM X 11 ms, but they won't bind. Any ideas?
Make sure your receiver and transmitter are at least one or two metres apart when you try to bind. This is because high powered RF data from the transmitter at close range can overwhelm the receiver and confuse it.
I'm still not able to bind. The only indication that a bind was successful are the blinking LEDs on the FC, right? They keep on blinking, so i guess i did't bind :c
When the receiver is bound the red/white LEDS should all change to a solid colour (no longer flashing). At least this is how they work with the FrSky version of the same FC.
It might be worth you making sure you are on the very latest release version of OpenTX (2.3.9) if you're not already on that version, and also make sure the latest version of the multiprotocol firmware in on your internal module by flashing the latest version. This is just to ensure that all firmware versions are compatible with each other on your TX16S. It may not fix the issue but it will at least rule out any older versions of firmware as being the cause.
They've definitely given you the DSMX version of the Trashcan haven't they and not an FrSky or Flysky one by mistake? Take a look at both sides of the FC and see if there is any silkscreen writing on it stating FrSky (FR), Flysky (FS), or DSMX.
At the moment we don't know if this is an issue with Crazybee F4 Pro DX flight controller in the Trashcan or the multiprotocol module in the TX16S.
Do you have any other DSMX equipped quads (or receivers) that you can test to see whether the multiprotocol module in your TX16S will bind to?
It might also be worth you posting both a "dump" and a "diff all" so we can cast our eyes over it to see if there is anything obviously wrong with the Betaflight settings.
I don't see anything wrong with your settings. So that only leaves either something wrong with the built-in DSMX receiver on the Crazybee Pro F4DX board, or a bug with the DSMX firmware in the multiprotocol module. Without another transmitter or receiver to test with I don't know what else to suggest.
I see that you've updated the Betaflight firmware to 4.2.1, so it might be worth going back to the Betaflight version that the Trashcan came with from the factory and also restoring the settings that were applied to that version at the factory. Just to rule out anything (bugs) with Betaflight 4.2.x and the Crazybee Pro F4DX boards.
@eintim I faced the same issues, then I tried something different and it was successful. Please find below the steps I followed, I've put in bold and red the steps that are never documented. Hope it will help you, Seb (Paris, France) (My gear: Trashcan DSMX, CrazyBee Pro F4 DX, Radio TX16S)
0/PREPARATION Use USB plug to power the FC, no need for a LiPo
1/BETAFLIGHT PORTS UART2 ON Sur Serial_Rx (despite it's a SPI receiver, it does not work without this)
2/BETAFLIGHT CONFIGURATION Receiver Serial Based SPEKTRUM2048 SET TELEMETRY ON (telemetry ON, yes strange, but it doesn't work without)
5/ THEN UNPLUG USB WAIT A FEW SECONDS SET RADIO IN BINDING MODE (On my TX16S DSM with X2F subprotocol) IMPORTANT -->PRESS BIND BUTTON WHILE POWERING UP THE FC WITH THE USB Wait a few seconds and release Well, it's done DONE
CHECK CHANNEL ENDPOINTS AND RANGES in my case: TRASHCAN DSMX SPEKTRUM 2048 rxrange 0 1159 1840 rxrange 1 1159 1840 rxrange 2 1159 1840 rxrange 3 1159 1840
Hi, I recently acquired a Trashcan DSMX and had to use Alpha BetaParis binding procedure above. I am bound now but can’t get motors to turn on after hitting arm switch. Betaflight shows SF arm switch configured and all flt stick movement on TX16S reflect binding is established as well as solid red and white lights on the quad. I’m new to the hobby and would appreciate any help.

Do you see the corresponding bars moving in the Receiver tab of Betaflight Configurator when you move each of the sticks axis and when you flip the arm switch?
