Tinyhawk fluttering?
#1
I recently upgraded my Tinyhawk. I had to replace he frame, I also replaced the camera to a Runcam Nano 2. I wedged my VTX (HGLRC NANO) behind the camera and hold the camera in place with 2 strips of gorilla tape (not the most elegant but it works). I have installed BF 4.1 w/ bi-directional dshot, PMB Tune, JESC 48k esc flash.

Now when I fly it the quad wobbles something fierce, almost un-flyable. I notice it the most when accelerating from a hover or out of a turn. I also notice it when I chop the throttle and let it float it acts like a leaf in the wind. I do not have a way to post and DVR footage as I am still using the EMAX goggles. I noticed one of the props has a very small nick in it. Could the prop be causing this or could it be something else. It used to fly fine and i recently noticed it after changing the frame.

Any ideas and thanks in advance.

Sounds exactly the same as a problem I had a few weeks ago after installing BF 4.1.6 and JESC 2.3 48K on my Trashcan. The oscillation made the thing unflyable. Naturally I blamed it on the JESC firmware but it turned out to be a hardware issue (motor). I don't know if it was just a coincidence or if the JESC firmware killed the motor. I won't find out until I've installed a new motor which is currently on route from China.

I wonder if you have the same/similar issue. Take the props off and spin each of the motors up one by one using the motor sliders in Betaflight Configurator to see if any of the motors sound different to the others, or if any of them stutter at high revs. That is what one of mine was doing.

Snow,

I did replace one of the motors after the frame swap cause it stuttered really bad. I know I messed up the motor when I took it off. All of the motors spin fine in BF.

I am trying to convince myself to give Emuflight a try just to see what it is like. It flies fast fine but it seems like when accelerating from a hover or out of a sharp turn it wobbles......
