Hello Everyone,
So I am scratching my head on this one and I am hoping y'all can help me out. I am pretty new to the flying and modifying so I am here to reach out to the seasoned veterans out there for help
I had a solid crash a few days ago with my Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle, and since I needed to take it apart to do some repairs I figured I would do an upgrade as well.
I wanted to have a little more radio range and still wanted to keep the telemetry as well. My transmitter is the FrSky X-Lite S, so logically the receiver to fit the bill was the FrSky R-XSR.
Now I did try to do some digging to see if the Freestyle's FC could use it and from what I could find it looked like it could but it was not clear on the exact details for the installation.
There seems to be 2 options with this receiver run telemetry: F.Port or Smart Port and SBUS.
I am looking for help on what exactly I need to wire to and setup in BF to have Telemetry. I attached the FC layout for someone to show me where I need to wire. Also I gather there might be some CLI commands I need to do along with updates on the Port tab and configuration tab.
Also, my current firmware situation is as follows:
Flight Controller: Betaflight 4.1.7
Radio OS: OpenTX 2.3.9
Internal Module FW: 1.1.3 (did not want to go to 2.1.0 since I would lose the ability to fly my whoops)
R-XSR FW: ACCESS 1.1.4 (to line up with the Internal Module FW)
So the real question is: Can I install the R-XSR (doesnt matter which way it will be wired) and get it work with full telemetry? Or does the FC not support it (i.e. anyone else hook this receiver up to the TH 2 Freestyle and succeed)?
Thanks for taking the time to look and/or help!
-Brian
