TBS Source One / TBS Unify Mounting Solutions
#1
Hey all,

Considering my recent trials and tribulations of breaking vtx's with the Source One frame, I thought I'd come over here and ask how people are mounting their's to their Source One frames? Specifically the TBS Unify Pro 32 5g8 HV. It comes with this slightly annoying pigtail that I can't for the life of me figure out a good way to mount to the frame.

You'd think that if you had a new TBS VTX and a new TBS Frame, that they would go together like PB&J but none of the holes on the frame match up with the holes on the little pigtail.... hmmm...

I have figured out a way to secure it pretty well using zipties but every time I open up the frame i'll have to clip one of the zipties and I know this will be too annoying over time so i'm looking for a more permanent solution.

a stackable 3d print can be used to mount the vtx there, usable in practice about open a frame.

I have a source two frame so similar.

My elegant solution is double sided tape to the top plate and a zip tie Smile

I ran a zip tie thru the each of the holes on the pig tail then around both rear stand offs I tightened them down evenly so the result was the pig tail did not contact the frame anywhere my signal was a lot better I did that on the source 2 I have the 3d print snow mentioned on the source 1 I'm currently flying but I would have done it the other way if I didn't it worked out well

This is my Elegant TPU solution for your problem, you can buy them off of my website here: https://behrenspeed3d.com/product/source...sma-mount/

I do have an alternative design that you can screw the TBS style SMA into (with the wings off of either side instead of just the 8mm hex like the one pictured)

OOOOOOOOooooooOOOOOooo

This is EXACTLY what I need. But I do in-fact need the winged TBS SMA connector style and I don't see that on your website. But i'll definitely be ordering one or two from you! See picture below just to make sure we're talking about the same winged SMA connector

An option might just be to get another MMCX to SMA pigtail without the wings...

This is the 3d model, but it hasnt gone through as much testing as the other one.

Are you in Australia? If you're not in Australia itll probably cost too much to ship and maybe i can sell you the model for cheap amd you can get it printed locally ?

Edit: i cant get the attachment to add on mobile, ill have to send the pic later.

Brain3D has a whole accessories kit for the Source one. Not bad in price either. This is what I have done for both of my Source one frames.

Here's a pic of one of mine.
