Tango 2 pro - RFMD never shows 2
#1
Hi everybody,

I've got a Tango 2 pro and I've built 2 drones myself and I've got 1 BNF that I bought at first.
I've soldered on all of them a crossfire nano RX SE with the immortal T antenna.

Now that I'm beginning to be more and more picky I have checked my Telemetry on all of them and I have the RFMD value stuck to 1 and it never goes to 2 even if I'm really close to the RX. I would assume that I did something wrong when I setup my RX but on 3 quads....  Confused

I have updated my crossfire version to 6.16 and all my RX are well binded I guess and I also reupdated the firmware on it to be sure that it has been well upgraded.
I can already go far like 1.5km and I never really went further so I would say that it is working but I don't understand why I never get the RFMD 2 which would mean that I am on the 150hz mode.

Did someone had the same issue ? Did I miss a configuration ? I tried both dynamic and locked mode to 150hz but I always see RFMD 1 on the tango 2.

You should have RFMD 2 at close distance.

I will suggest you contact TBS support and they will probably ask you to open up the transmitter.

I suspect the ufl connector on the Tango 2 internal transmitter module has popped off.

Ok so after couple hours I've found the issue.

First I opened up the transmitter and my ufl connector was fine, nothing there.

Then playing with the "Tango II XF" menus, I saw that the "Op mode" was set to "Forced Tel" and I changed that value to "Normal".
After that I had my RFMD value which was well set to 2 and also when I power my drones, they used to take a while to establish the link to the tango, couples seconds but now it's instantaneous !
Also I had to link all my drones with forced telemetry mode and switch to normal for each of them while they were linked otherwise changing this parameter prevents to link other drones that was binded with the force telemetry mode.

I'm not sure why this Op mode was limiting my RFMD and if there is a specific behaviour behind that feature but in normal mode I see what I expected and I'll test that tomorrow because now it's the night but anyway issue solved !!
