Speedybee F7V3 dead?
#1
Hi, I think my Speedybee F7V3 FC might be dead. I was messing with the PIDs and did a hover test last night and all was good. This morning, when I plug FC into betaflight, it doesn't recognize it (other quads connect ok). Also noticed, the status LEDs on my Speedybee FC are not lighting up when I plug in the battery. The receiver is getting power because it lights up. And since the computer doesnt recognize the FC when plugged into USB, do I probably have a dead FC?

Is there anything else I should check first before I get a new FC?

If your receiver is still lighting up with a battery connected, and your rx is connected to a 5v pad, it’s a sign that your problem is most likely past the 5v regulator- either the 3.3v regulator or a dead mcu. This means that just wiring in an external 5v bec is unlikely to solve your problem.

Try connecting it to a different usb port. When that fails:

I’d suggest an isolation test. Disconnect everything from the fc, including the esc.

Inspect the fc to make sure nothing blew onto the board that could be shorting something out, and check for visual burn damage as well.

Try plugging the fc into betaflight again, see if it recognizes it.

If it doesn’t, that’s not a good sign.

If it does, start plugging things back in or soldering things back on one at a time, starting with the esc, and checking to make sure that it still connects each time, and boots with a battery connected. Check each plug and jack prior to plugging each component back in to make sure pins are straight and whatnot.
Dangerous operations.

I'm not sure actually. I disconnected everything and reconnected each component one by one and by the time it was done, everything was working as normal...go figure!

Glad to hear it.

Something might have had a poor connection or a bit of corrosion and just needed to be reseated- regardless, I'm glad you got it back in the air. Smile

If you have the same problem in the future, I'd take a closer look at your plugs.
