Hey guys,
I’m mainly into cinematic FPV and hoping one day to fly BMPC or better on FPV drones for commercial use. I just started building and flying FPV about 4 months ago so I’m still super new to this hobby/career.
For a while I had been using GoPro hypersmooth 2.0 which worked really well but finally tried Reel Steady and it is definitely smoother. The one thing I’ve noticed, because in order to use Reel Steady you need to have hypersmooth off, is that the raw video footage is pretty shaky. I’m curious to how people like Johnny FPV get raw video that is almost vibration free. Obviously there’s going to be a little shake in any unstabalized video but it is a lot less prominent in this Johnny video which is 100% unstablized when compared to mine.
I haven’t learned to PID tune so I’m not sure if that’s something that would help make it smoother, but any tips help. The reason I’m wondering is because when I eventually get to flying the bigger cameras, it would be nice to have smoother or at least usable footage right away without having to run it through stabilization software in post.
Thanks!
