0 Any suggestions for mail in repair experts to replace MLCCs and MOSFETs?
I tried and failed replacing two MLCCs on a VTX and have a burned down FC ESC AIO, not sure if its worth an expert's time. I reached out to a nyc biz that says they are able and willing, waiting for a quote.

72 The quote will probably be more than the boards are worth!
This kind of repair is only really feasible if you already have the equipment needed to do it. That's a hot air station, and for many high current boards, a pre-heater as well. Then you probably will need a stereo zoom microscope and plenty of free boards to practise on and learn the skill.

0 Unseen, I’m finding you’re right. I did find a business in Burlington VT that do SMD mail in repairs if someone is looking. I also did find a PCB ruler on RDQ that has a chart of SMD components sizes, really nice to acquaint yourself with nameless SMD components. Replacing the whole VTX and AIO board is more economical at my scale.

72 As I suspected, it's not worth sending this kind of thing away for repair.
On the other hand, if you have an interest in electronics, buying the needed equipment over a period of time and learning the skills required to do this kind of repair could work out to be entertaining and satisfying and put you in the position where you could offer that kind of service to other RC enthusiasts. I doubt you would ever get rich doing it, but it could help to pay for the equipment.
