0 Hi all,
Perhaps not specific to this charger but does anyone know if it's ok to charge lipos of different cell number together. For example I want to charge 3 x 4s and 1 x 3s on the F6 4 channel charger. I think its ok to do but what I don't seem to be able with my charger is set a different charge rate per charging channel. In which case the safest thing to do is charge all at 1s for the 3s lipo which is a little low for the 4s's but it will just take a bit longer to charge them? Still a lot faster than one at a time like I was doing! Thanks for the help

14 Are you talking about with a parallel board? Then NO, just hooking the batteries to a parallel board they will all try to level out on voltage so a lower cell battery would likely explode because it would end up to a higher voltage than it's capable of.
Now if you're talking about a charger that has multiple channels (which is what it sounds like you're saying), yes you should be able to configure one channel to do 1s for example and another channel to 3s. The charger "should" have the ability to change the charge rate between channels as well. Otherwise there wouldn't be much point to having multiple channels.
Unsure on which smart charger you have but in the surface world with Spektrum which is based off another brand I can't recall people seem to eventually have nothing but issues with them as they progress beyond their initial charger and lipo purchase. Most seem to gravitate towards a Hota, Hobbymate, ISDT or other.

0 Hi, it's the HOTA F6 I have with 4 charging channels. When I change the charge rate for one channel though it changes all of them to that amp value. So that's what makes me think you can't charge at different rates.

14 Skimming through the 2 youtube vids on that model it sure looks like it "should" have the ability to. I have the Hota D6+ and the menus pretty much look the same. You should be able to adjust current prior to setting up a charge cycle or change it during. Wonder if there is a firmware update for yours, I know the D6+ had some firmware updates but mine already came with the latest.
Hota makes amazing chargers for the price compared to some of the older tech but their manual/website leave a lot to be desired. Same for their bluetooth app, but I still use it despite how buggy it is.

0 Ok I've figured it out. It seems you need to set the charge rate for ch1 start the task, ch2 start the task. If you don't start it it seems to keep all channels set the same. I.e. it doesn't save the different amp values per channel unless you start the task.
