Smallest frame with 25.5x25.5 mount
#1
Hi guys,

I'm searching for the smallest possible carbon fiber frame (1.6" or 2" max) that allows me to fit the following modules:

- AIO FC ESC 25.5x25.5mm
- 1104 motors
- caddx vista module with nebula nano v2 cam

The best would be an option that allows me to fix the AIO on the bottom and the vista from the top but I may also consider to stack them together.

Any suggestion ?

why do you like to mix mount options?
as the vista has 20x20mm mouning holes, as example this would probably give a more easy solution;

the tbs source micro would be kind of spacy, to fit a lot of gear like the vista.

https://oscarliang.com/diatone-hey-tinawhoop/ this would be a frame for 25mm aios, but i beleive the vista could probably only find place if you decease it, take away the heat elements.

Thanks for your answer,

As far as I know Vista may also be mounted using the external holes that normally keep the boards together. And they are 25.5x25.5.

The reason why I'm searching for 25.5mm frame is that I would like to try changing the plastic frame of a Thinking P16 into a carbon fiber one. Bad idea ?

aaah, im sorry, seems the vista have both options 20x20mm or 25,5x25,5mm

good idea!
i would go for 2,5inch on 2s batteries, i beleive you will get a performance and efficiency improvement. there would be also more frame choices. as example the diatone gtb series would be a nice frame, probably an easy way to find a frame would be an example build of vista+25mm+2,5" in combination

I tried 2S batteries but it feels "heavy". When turning 180° you need to give lot of gas to avoid loosing altitude or even crashing. With 350mah 3S batteries it flyes like a charm.  Cool

GTB is a bit larger than i expected, I would like to keep the size within 2" but it's difficult to match with the 25.5 requirement.

Forgive mi ignorance... where should I search for an example build of vista+25mm+2,5"    Huh

There's no 25.5x25.5mm mount Caddx Vista unit.

You can consider Geprc Phantom HD frame, whoop style AIO board mounting home at the bottom plate and mounting Vista from the top plate. It is 2.5" frame though.

I know but if you remove the external screws and use those holes for the stack, their pitch is exactly 25.5mm

Oh I didn't realise that. I just lined up one of my Vista unit and a Whoop AIO board . You are right. That should work with some rubber spacer and long screws.

2s would be different on 2,5" compared to 2", its a huge increasement in propsurface. it might need adjustements of pid, you shouldnt get sloppy yaw turning.
i use 2,5" 8000kv on 3s, but the weight of my quad is less, you might get hot motors and decreased flighttimes with 3s and 2,5" inch with an added vista.

there are two tbs source micro frames a 2" version and a 2,5" version, there shouldnt be an issue if you try the 2,5" bersion and decide to use only 2" props later.

the best source to watch examples is www.rotorbuilds.com
