Rush Blade F722 Digital red blinking STA LED
#1
Hello you wonderful forum members. Hope you all are doing great.

I have a problem I never encountered before. One of my custom quads with Rush Blade F722 Digital FC, after adding an active buzzer (with built-in battery), is giving me some problems. I've never had that before, but now I've noticed, there is red blinking LED under the STA marking. There is also a blue one and that's power, it's solid blue LED, not blinking.

I've tried connecting to BetaFlight, and I can't connect my FC anymore. It shows COM1 - Communication Port, but I was usually connecting this quad to COM5. I've also tried Zadig to no avail. Tried ImpulseRC Driver Fixer as well, and it keeps searching for FC, never finds anything.

I would not bother you with this, but I can't find anywhere anything about that red blinking LED called STA.

Thank you all in advance!

Did you try disconnecting the buzzer?

Where are these LED lights you mention? On the FC or buzzer?

Buzzers often draw a lot of amps and I am hoping it gas not damaged the voltage regulator on the FC.

Thank you so much for your reply.

LED light is on the FC, there is a marking above that red LED that blinks and it says STA. I will try to attach a picture.

Also, when I get this, quad is never connected with battery, only with USB, I simply tried to go into BetaFlight.

What I am suspecting might be... I am not sure if those Buzzer markings on the board are correct and should be followed in my case. Maybe that's for passive buzzer only, and I do have that one with built-in battery.

Another thing to consider... I have never actually even connected the buzzer, only three wires to the FC, and the other end has that little connector that should be plugged into the buzzer itself. Buzzer is still on the table, never ever connected to those wires. I repeat, only wires are connected to the FC.

EDIT 1: let me just say that when I plug my iSDT D1 charger and use DC Output option (my configuration is 6s, so I use 25.2V and 2.0A current output) to power my quad (always doing it this way to avoid charging/discharging batteries when working on bench... quad boots normally, I hear that sound when quad normally boots, and everything seems OK to the naked eye, except I see that red STA light blinking and I am unable to go back to BetaFlight.
I am thinking, should I connect that red wire to 5V pad instead of Buz+, or that's not a good idea?

EDIT 2: I've seen some people did that, and instead of connecting red wire to Buz+, they went to 5V pad. I did that too, and the red blinking STA light is still there. Can't connect to Betaflight, but at least Zadig gives me option UNKNOWN USB DEVICE (DEvice Descriptor Request Failed). Before I did not see that one. And also, when plugged FC to USB, Windows complained that it does not recognize USB device connected. So, it looks like driver issue which I can't seem to solve...

Thank you for helping me, greatly appreciated!

Update: problem solved! There was a problem with drivers (for some reason) and Windows complained it's Unknown device plugged when I plug my FC. Anyway, I've changed my USB cable (the one I know for sure I used before), and instantly ImpulsRC Driver Fixer recognized my FC, and started driver installation. After a minute, it was done and I've received message DRIVER INSTALLATION SUCCESSFUL. Went back to Betaflight, FC was in DFU mode, I re-flashed the latest firmware just to be sure, and after that I was presented with COM8 and was able to connect instantly. All works perfect. Buzzer works as it should, screams when battery gets unplugged, but I also set it to my AUX3, one of the Tango II switches.

EDIT: the only still unknown thing is (and it's bugging me), what is that red LED marked as STA on this controller? It actually always blinks red, I've watched some of my old videos and it was always blinking like this. This time I've had a problem with drivers and not being able to connect to Betaflight, so I automatically assumed red blinking = problem.

Thanks everyone!

The "STA" LED will be one of the two Betaflight status LEDs. One of them always blinks on and off during normal (idle) operation of the FC and it indicates that the Betaflight firmare is actually running. The colour of the status LEDs isn't standard across FCs. On some the blinking status LED is blue and on others it is red.

Thank you so much! Super clear explanation! I am wondering why would my drivers go wrong all of a sudden, I connect to Betaflight almost every day. All 3 custom quads connect just fine. After soldering these 3 buzzer wires, Betaflight simply did not let it in anymore.

All good now, that's what counts  Smile

I wanted to thank you all for your unselfish assistance, just wanted you to know there is plenty of us out there who appreciate your effort and time spent here a lot! Thank you!
