Roma F5 motor protection
#1
The Roma F5 comes with these nifty little injection molded piece that look great but offer little in the way of motor protection.

They save the ends of the arms pretty well, but are pretty brittle and leave the motor widely exposed.

I've seen some TPU versions of them and it seems as though it would be somewhat trivial to beef up the design, adding material around the existing design, such that it can offer motor protection instead of only arm protection.

Does anyone have experience with doing something like this?
How much would it cost as a service?

Did you check this thingiverse post: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4687112/files

That listing has the step and f3d files required if you want to make modifications yourself in a CAD program.

Yeah, they're a replica of the stock arm protectors.  I suppose if I had my own printer I could play with it and add the thickness/width that might help with motor protection but sadly, I dont.

You can easily edit/resize the stl file in TikerKad https://www.tinkercad.com/ and find an online printing service.

found this guy, victor_ourd, who has remixed the stock arm protector with a big beefy motor protector.  Was hoping for even more all-around protection but this is great!
