Rates when using sports camera
#1
Hello,
I would like to know which rates are you using when you are using sports camera, like go-pro.
I normally fly without camera but I tried time ago and the result was horrible.
I am using the values by defect.
What PID's/Rates are you using?

PIDs are dependant to each build really. So one persons PID tune may not be the best tune for your own build.
Try using Voodoos PID tuning cheatsheet to see if you can get it dialed in a bit better.

Generally speaking I usually have to bump P and D up a bit, maybe by 5 or 10 points and go from there.

Also if your camera sits far forward you may need to position your battery further back yo get a good balanced COG (center of gravity)

PID and rates are two different things. PID adjustment is for smoothing out oscillations during flight. Rates are for how fast or slow you want your quad to roll, pitch and/or yaw. From your post, I assume you are referring to PID. Like DoP said, it varies quad to quad depended. If you have specific things you want to tune out, post a video and a description on what you want to do. That cheatsheet does help the majority of the time. Hard to tune quads will require many Blackbox logs with videos. Let try to avoid that. Remember to use new props and make sure everything is tighten down when tuning. And are you getting both the same oscillations in both FPV and GoPro shots? Sometimes it could be as simple as a loose GoPro strap.

That would be perfect if you had some footage to diagnose. Like voodoo said it may just be a poor mount or strap. Let us know.
