Radiomaster T8 pro missing dsm
#1
Really struggling with the Radiomaster, have finally manage to get the firmware and internal module to update but still can't get dsm to select.

If I use TX companion I can set it to dsm but shows protocol invalid on TX.

Bought becasue of open protcol and programmable to lots of protocols. The just checked last night and ALL my recievers are spectrum based aka dsm2 or dsmx

Really getting annoyed with this radio had it for 2 years and never got it to work apart from a simulator.

The RadioMaster T8 Pro uses the CC2500 multi-protocol module which only supports a limiter number of protocols -> FrSky, Futaba, RadioLink, Hitec, HoTT, and a few other obscure protocols. It does not support the DSM or DSMX protocols. Just because you can see DSM/DSMX as a selectable protocol in OpenTX doesn't mean that you can use it. OpenTX has no way of knowing what module you are using or what protocols the module supports so it just gives you the full list of protocol that OpenTX itself can make use of and will then display the invalid protocol message if it can't use that protocol on the installed module.

So you will either need to get another receiver that is compatible with the CC2500 multiprotocol module, or you will need to get another transmitter that has the full 4-in-1 multiprotocol module in it which is compatible with the DSM/DSMX protocols.

Ahh .... that's an issue.  Finally, a clear answer, been trying with RM support for a while and not a straight answer.   Can you recommend a good radio at a good price that does support DSM as I've about 8 receivers all DSM and nothing else..... Also, does anyone want a RadioMaster 8Pro?

If you prefer a game pad style transmitter then you should probably take a look at the RadioMaster Zorro. You can get it with either a built in 4-in-1 multiprotocol module or a built in ExpressLRS module. You would need the former for it to be compatible with your DSM receivers.

Unmanned Tech are out of stock right now but Your FPV in the UK appear to have some...

I would watch a few reviews of it on YouTube before clicking the buy-it-now button so you now what to expect from it...
