Thank you for this mate.  What is NFE fork all about?  Middle of the work day and I'm being lazy, sorry...

Also, reading up on the HDZERO integration, I wonder if I can get this to work with a walksnail vtx?   I'm assuming it is using the MSP protocol to perform the comms so I wonder if it will work with ws or come to think of it dji vtxs as well?

From the author of the NFE/NotFastEnuff Quicksilver fork:
"This repo is NOT the official QUICKSILVER firmware. The real QUICKSILVER firmware is still an unfinished project and is on a development break at the time of updating this readme. Consider this fork a "sample" of what QUICKSILVER might become in the future through potential community support and involvement. This NFE fork has been created to encourage public visibility into the QUICKSILVER source and to exist as a personal "sandbox" for my own quick and dirty code to try out new ideas and share them with friends. It is my hope that this fork may positively influence the future outcome of the QUICKSILVER project."

It doesn't look like there's been any updates on that fork in 2 years. I think it was, as he said, a way to keep Quicksilver going and build interest in it.

The official Quicksilver is now being actively developed again.

I included the video about the NFE fork just because the installation and setup process is the same, and there is very little available on youtube as far as video tutorials go. I'm considering making one once I'm more familiar with the firmware, but, my laptop can't handle video editing so it would be some lofi garbage filmed on my iphone with bad audio.

From what I can tell, the HDZero setting in Quicksilver uses MSP DisplayPort/Canvas Mode, so I'm assuming it will work with Walksnail?

I've got no experience with digital video, and I'm just now starting to learn about and play with Quicksilver, so I'm far from an authority on the subject.

If you decide to give it a try, please report back on if it works!

OK, I see, good to know that it is gaining traction!  I will definitely be trying this out on a (not too distant) future build. Thumbs Up

I see a few "how" videos there but no "why". I looked a little at UAV Tech's video, the only thing he mentions on the "why" before starting with the "how" is automatic turtle mode... So that's it? I didn't view any further, I would rather first get more "why" before more "how".

For me it just feels better in the air. It's infinitely simpler to setup than Betaflight, esc settings are built into the configurator, SPI ELRS 3 available out of the box, on the fly tuning. They are the key things for me. But mainly it's just easier to setup and feels better when you fly it, more locked in. Someone told me it feels a lot like KISS, but I don't have a KISS quad to try.

The only way for you to know if you will like it, is to flash it on to something and try it. But if you have a perfect setup on Betaflight I wouldn't mess with it. But if you had a whoop lying around and fancied trying it out, make a save of your dump and diff and then try it.

As with everything, it isn't for everyone.
