2 I would like to start using two-step arming as a safety measure. However, as I look at the modes in Betaflight I cannot see a mode for pre-arming with my Emax Freestyle 2. Is there a way to add this pre-arming to every quad, even if it is not shown in Betaflight? Thanks in advance.

796 Make sure the "Hide unused modes" switch at the top left on the Modes tab is switched on. Then you should see a "PREARM" mode that you can configure.

101 07-Mar-2021, 03:16 AM (This post was last modified: 07-Mar-2021, 03:17 AM by the.ronin.) Bardwell did a great video on how to program pre-arming in OpenTX which means you don't need to use up another channel. I highly recommend looking into that rather than using Betaflight prearm.
Unfortunately, my radio does not use OpenTX so I am stuck using up a channel with Betaflight prearm.

6 I'm probably one of the few people that use pre-arming. For me it is a simple matter of safety and a deep rooted respect for what spinning propellers can do to you. Had a friend many, many years ago that stuck his hand through 12x6 prop on a 4-stroke motor that was idling. He lost a LOT of blood on the way to the hospital. Not a pretty sight.
For me, in the modes section of BF I set Aux switch 1 to Pre-Arm in the middle position and then Arm with Aux switch 2 in the third position. I chose using the middle switch position for pre-arm because it isn't a position I can easily bump the switch into. I have to deliberately move it to the middle.
