Powering Speedybee f405 v4 FC
#1
I have been wanting to isolate my vtx and camera system from my esc and fc. In the proccess of learning how to do so, I came across a props off youtube video where he had powered his fc from the xt60 pads of the esc. In the video, he depinned his active wire from the ribbon connector of the fc and esc. I was wondering, do I have to depin the active wire on the ribbon connector if Im powering the fc off of the xt60 pads directly, or can I just do both.
I am running a speedybee f405 v4 stack with 6s.

The idea of depinning the power connections for the wiring harness that goes between the FC and ESC when the power to the FC is instead provided directly from the XT60 pads of the ESC to the FC is to re-route the power so it is no longer going through the original power circuit (traces on the ESC and FC which might be running close to other components on the board) which could be the source of any interference.

Not de-pinning those power connections in the ESC-to-FC wiring harness won't cause any power issues because you will just be providing power to the FC via both the original ESC-to-FC wiring harness connections and also via direct connections from the XT60 pads, but by doing that won't won't be eliminating (bypassing) the original power circuit as a potential cause of the interference issue.

So by all means leave the ESC-to-FC wiring harness power wires connected, but by doing that you won't actually achieve anything in trying to identify and eliminate one of the possible causes of interference.
