Im new to the drone world and started building my own. I have everything wired up but in beta flight i cant seem to get my ruah tank solo in uart 2 to activate. Idk if im doing something wrong or what. I cant even flash my firmware. Do i need my battery hooked up or just my usb when doing this??

your vtx needs to be powered to check if the vtx table/smartaudio works. how is your vtx wireing? you might need to plug the battery.

your issue is you cant use smartaudio or you doesnt receive anything from your vtx?

Yea im not 100% im pretty sure i got it wired correctly but i can get photos and a video posted later today.

I also got to thinking on the runcam phenox 2 ionly ran the 3 wires positive, ground and cam wires. There are two others for rx tx should i have used those as well?? I didnt see anything about using those.

Also, you said u can’t flash ur firmware.. first make sure u have a “data cable” not just a charging cable..
U should be able to recognize the fc in betaflight.. what version is it showing? If it’s prior to 4.1.* (I think) your vtx will not show up in betaflight..
And when u get the firmware updates.. u will also need to install the vtx tables

also i got my rush tank solo to light up it gets insainly hot and i still cant get betaflight to detect it on uart3

I’m not that betaflight savey, I’m sure others can help more.. but uart 3 looks a bit “busy” u have the configurator selected, smart port telemetry AND PEREFFERIALS all selected..
I’m sure someone here can figure it out..

turn off where i marked red

go to the vtx tab, where the yellow arrow is. there is a box on the right, "device ready" on/off shows if your vtx is "detected".
what info do you get about "device ready" in videotransmitter tab

now my baro isnt working... i have it on the scl sda pads. idk what uart that would be

so to start things off on how i was able to get my vtx to work was i needed my battery hooked up. second part was i did not have the correct uart settings i was turning on unneeded things. all i needed enabled was vtx smartaudio selected nothing else. learning curve thats all

Put a fan on your electronics while connected to BF and when stationary for any length of time. There’s not any air circulating around the electronics without the props.

update! i have the vtx working the gps is working motors are running and i managed to get the tracer tx to work on my tx16s i also made a arm and disarm on my tx16s.

but.. my baro is still not working and for some reason im not getting any throttle response or anything from my drone when just plugged into the battery. but if im connected to betaflight via usb i see all my stuff working?? am i missing a step here?
