Need help upgrading Tinyhawk Freestyle with R9MM and R9M Lite
#1
I have a tinyhawk freestyle with a F4 FC and I am wanting to replace the receiver with an R9MM, since I am low on funds and I plan on keeping this one for a while, so I want to be able to take it out for a spin. SO, on the R9MM receiver, it has pads for SBUS OUT, S.PORT/F.PORT, GND, V-IN (POS), and Inverted S-Port. SO on the bottom of the flight controller, there are pads with RX1 and TX1 and TX2 and on the top of the FC, where the RX1 pad is, is the camera plug for the camera pigtail. So is the TX1 and TX2 where I should get the S.Port and then invert serial_rx in the CLI, or keep it the way it is? Or should I use SBUS for S.Port or is SBUS where the SBUS-OUT goes? I'm new to this so any expert advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, I know that SBUS can be inverted because I have the option to do so in the CLI and I seen a guy on YouTube upgrade his Tinyhawk Freestyle with new XM+ receiver and he did an inverted serial RX in the CLI. Please help. Thanks in advance.

You have two ways of wiring. If you want to use the SBUS/S. PORT method, you will need to wire 4 wires total (Sbus, S. Port, 5v and ground). If you want to use the F. Port method you will need 3 wires. I recommend the F. Port method. If thing you need to do is flash the R9MM with F. Port firmware. Rebind.

Now you want to solder the INV S. Port from R9MM to TX2. 5v to 5v and ground to ground. Then run the following CLI commands below. Can you post a dump in case you need more than the settings below?

feature RX_SERIAL
feature TELEMETRY
serial 1 64 115200 57600 0 115200
set serialrx_provider = FPORT
set serialrx_halfduplex = ON
set serialrx_inverted = OFF
Save

I also use F.port on my quads and it is easy to wire and works great

Where does the f.port wire go? on SBUS?

Or would it go to RX or TX1 r TX2. On the bottom side of my FC, there are pads for TX2 and TX1 and RX2. RX1 is directly under the camera plug for the camera pigtail

I mentioned where the F. Port/Inv S. port goes above. TX2.
