My Stab at NLR
#1
I have made a few quads over the years with 18650's, but never a 1S. I never even thought to try it. After seeing all the different builds on YouTube, I had to make some. This is my attempt at it and I am quite pleased with the results.

Stats:
Frame ~18g. I know this is heavy, but the battery support is integrated and critical.
Motors 1202.5 11500KV
FC: Diamond F4 AIO or BetaFPV 1S AIO
Camera: Caddx Ant

I use spring tabs from Keystone 26650 cell holders. They are gold plated and hold the cells nicely and I designed the frame around them. I could probably cut some weight off of the frame, but I am not the best pilot yet so I have plenty of room for improvement. I have tried multiple motor spacings and for flight performance, an H style spacing handled much better than an X. I am spinning the props in on these prototypes and so far happy with the results. I will say that the Diamond F4 is hit or miss on quality, but once you get a good one it works well. Depending on the battery, I am getting between 8-12 minutes of cruising around before ESC brownout. I ordered some boost converters to play with to extend that time. I am planning to add GPS and express LRS to the Diamond F4 to really put it through its paces. More to come...

Hey ngen33r, nice first post!

I like how you integrated the battery holder into the frame. Also the battery is a bottom mount, nice work!

I went through several iterations, changing the length 0.1mm at a time until the battery was a nice snug fit without deflecting the frame and keeping firm contact with the leaf springs. I have a DVR on my goggles so I will make a flight video when I can get to the soccer field.

Knock on wood, no batteries have popped out yet. I probably should wrap a small piece of hook and loop around it incase I crash.
