My Inductrix
#1
With all the cool "Tiny Whoop" videos out there and all the hype surrounding this the Inductrix I thought it was about time to get onboard and try one out.

I bought the RTF Kit, which comes with 1 x Blade Inductrix quad, 2 coloured canopies, 1 Lipo, 1 USB Lipo charger and 1 Blade Radio.

As I wanted to go the route of FPV I had to get a micro fpv cam/Vtx combo.

I picked up a Hyperion Mini 600TVL Camera with bilt in 5.8Ghz 25mW Vtx.

Back to the Inductrix.

This thing is small, and I do mean small.

Here is a comparison for size.

To the left is my ZMR-X210 and to the right is the inductrix.

[Image: Screen%20Shot%202016-07-07%20at%2012.19....8j82gl.png]

Setting up the FPV cam combo was a breeze, bit of solder and 1 elastic band to secure the cam and you are good to go. Have since printed of a tiny light weight 3d mount for the cam which screws onto the main control board of the inductrix.

The RTF supplied radio does the job very well and does away with trying to use your All rounder Radio.

by pressing the right stick in you can change from high rates to low rates and by pressing in on the left stick you go into bind mode, should you need to.  Both high and low rates are self level mode, Some say it has acro mode, if it does, I have not yet found it.

Flight times do vary depending on what lipo you use, my default lipo is a 150mAh 25C and lasts about 2.5 to 3 minutes, and yet my 150mAh 45C lasts about 4 minutes., and that is on the supplied default motors.

Be sure to buy more batteries, and loads of them, this little quad is so addictive.  You can get 205mAh that work great from here, https://micro-motor-warehouse.com/collec...ipo-205mahhttps://micro-motor-warehouse.com/collec...ipo-205mah
and while you are at it, grab some more powerful motors from the same place.

Overall I love this little quad, and for what it was designed for, a great little indoor quad, or outdoors with no wind.

It should come as no surprise that the overall cost gets quite high when you factor in purchase price, plus FPV cam combo, spare lipo's, new motors and new frames.

Yep, new frames, the plastic frame is not that strong and I have broken 2 already, one is still in service thanks to superglue.

Is it all worth it?   Heck Yes.. So much fun in such a small package. By no means a substitute for a real quad but perfect for those rainy days when you are stuck indoors.

Here is a quick video on my second or third flight with this thing.

I have not yet cleaned out the battery slots.

And yes, the colour is salmon, even if my wife says it is pink. Dodgy

Ok, so the colour looks pink, but the label says pimpin purple..but have to use the roll up, no point going to waste.  And don't you just hate all those who advertise  suppliers all the time?, would never happen in my day. Back in my day, I had to get up 2 hours before I went to bed, go outside and lick the road clean with me tongue and then I had to walk 50 miles to school and back..up hill both ways. Has anyone seen my 3D printed zimmer frame? I am surprised you lot are still reading this rubbish..lol

I like my Barbie coloured Inductrix box, real men can deal with pink.  Big Grin

Artur's review is nicely done. (insert thumbs up symbol)......we need a thumbs up symbol/emoticon.

I think the hobby needs to officially recognize the Whoop class and start organizing events specifically for it, this thing is hilarious.

One of the facebook guys did a round case that holds a ton of batteries, 12 or 14. I printed it and it works nicely. My friends want to buy em from me now Smile

Update:

The little tiny Whoop. or Blade Inductrix if you wish to be technically correct.

I have had this thing for a while now, and hammered it to death and revived it, killed it, revived it and so it goes.

So, Here is my final thoughts on it.

Good Points
1. Awesome little quad that is so much fun to fly indoors (even outdoors if dead calm..no wind)
2. Easy to setup, easy to fly
3. Just plain addictive.

Bad Points.

1. Expensive for what you get
2. Fragile as anything, motor duct spars will break if you even look at them funny
3. Default motors are shite
4. Batteries are expensive for what you get, and you need bucket loads.
5. You need a warehouse full of spares, Motors, frames.

I still fly mine, but will not be buying any more parts for it, when it dies next it will stay dead.

Total cost for so far, includes original purchase.

$319.47 cents Australian

Which is pretty darn expensive for a tiny little quad that breaks easy, has lousy flight times.. Trouble is..they are so damn addictive.

But now will be looking at alternatives.

RIP Tiny Whoop..when you finally pass.

That's indeed a lot of $ for what it is... I've been considering to get one or something equivalent, but when I see how much you've spent I'm going to think twice whether it's really worth it.

I got an Eachine E010 instead. I'm also building a micro with 8mm motors which is much more powerful than a Tiny Whoop.
Current quad: ZMR 250 / DYS SE2205 / Littlebee 20A ESCs / Drone Lab 1500 4S / Naze32 Rev5 / BF 2.7.1
FPV: Runcam Skyplus / Aomway 200mw VTX / Fatshark DomV1

That is probably the path I will take as well.

Either way, these tiny quads are just great fun and as I have said. Very Addictive.
