My First Juicy flick? Hyperlow build
#1
Hey friends -I haven't posted much as I've relocated to Delaware from NYC, and I finally got out to fly.

Some quickies about the build
  • Hyperlow Rs+ Frame (extended body (2 30x30 mounts) with 5" true-x arms)
  • Flywoo Goku F7 FC
  • Tmotor Velox V45A ESC
  • HGLRC Forward 400 VTX
  • Blaster 2207 2450 Motors
  • Ovonic 1300 100c 4s
  • Nepal N1 5.1" Props
  • Runcam Phoenix cam 2.1
  • FrSky R9mm
  • Old School ACCST Q7 with R9
  • I've also since routed the xt60 out the side as I can strap it down much cleaner

Some almost dark sunset flying:

I been trying to learn juicy flick and either way that video looks really good!! I don't know if there's a "standard" but I think you half flip first then roll and typically yaw out of it.

ahh - yeh. I've seen like 4 different variations. I've really enjoyed flying this thing. Now I just gotta figure out how to tune out the Gopro induced propwash. Thanks for the compliment !

Honestly I didn't fixate on the prop wash at all until you mentioned it. But yea a little D term will buff that right out. Big Grin

At 4S your D could traditionally be between 40-50ish and your P 1.5-2x that with minimal filtering.

Beautiful light and smooth flying.

Here's a good video of juicy flick with slow mo + stick cam from Will Willy FPV.

so it turns out I've done a variation of what he calls a yaw-back haha.... I'm good with it still. More Juicy practice tomorrow !!

You could also try the yaw back then do a half front flip to be upside down then half roll to complete the move. Mixing up the components of the moves, yaw at the start instead of the end of the move. You already got the yaw moves down pat.

All good fun to add to the repertoire.

What Willy leaves out in that video, and I think you picked up on this jasper, is the quicky look up before he goes into it. Bardwell calls him out on it in his video where Willy tries to teach him the trick.

My sense is there are a lot of variations and doing one over a tree versus shooting through a gap looks almost like two totally different tricks. I've got a long way to go on it though.
