My First FPV Quad Build, Need Suggestions
#1
This is my first ever FPV build, i want you guys to have a look and advise if i have did something wrong, i am waiting for vtx antenna haven’t flown it yet, can i try it with my eachine ev800d goggles antenna?
I dont know why i am afraid of taking it into air, i ask myself if i would be able to control it
I have practiced on simulators and was doing good there but in real world i am expecting it to be a whole different thing
The eachine ev800d goggles are very bulky and the image is very close to the eyes which bothers me more..
Also i am planning to power it by Li-ion battery packs, 4s1p panasonic NCR18650B or Sanyo ZM2, searching sony VTC5A/6 but no sucess yet, should i try on li-ion for the first time or lipo, or it doesn’t make any difference
Any suggestion? On my build or regarding my first flight
I hope pictures of my build are attached and visible to you guys..

Thanks

Gives a request access message when clicking on links.

Yes you can put the omni on the quad and just have the patch on the goggles. Just make sure you keep the patch facing the quad.

Some people love simulators. I am one of the ones that hate it. You have no skin in the game. In RL if you stuff up it will cost you money. Get used to smashing the crap out of your quad and you will do really well Smile

With the batteries just don't go full throttle on the lion as they will probably melt.

i couldnt watch your photos either. what kind of build is it?

you didnt post in the longrange section, if you dont like to spend the whole performance of your build to get flighttime, you shouldnt consider about liion.
get good high c-rated tattu or gnb lipos.

I have tried to enable the link sharing option, please check now i think now everyone can view the pictures..
Also please see that i have half mounted the VTX i.e only on 2 hex standoff support as x6b receiver has already taken half of the mk3 position and the holes of reciever are for M2 while vtx holes are for M3 screws..

yes, able to watch now
looks good :-)

this antenna should work well

take care about vibrations from half mounted boards, doubleside tape can solve that if you cant noung by screws

Did you mean to add a link to an antenna or something?
when you said "this antenna should work well" no antenna is attached... Thinking
Hope I helped!... or Thank You for helping me!    Instagram  :)

The half mounted vtx is fastened very tight and there is no movement at all, i dont think vibrations would occur..
Is there any other way that you can suggest to mount it completely and how to mount x6b flysky reciever?
What you would say about the solder joints? Are these okay?
I saw a picture on internet of Geprc Mark 4 having Caddx Tarsier’s board mounted just behind the camera, i dont feel that there is enough room there, if it can be mounted there how to fasten it properly?
See this;
Cam board mounted on front, which will save more room for esc and FC, or is it a specially designed frame?

I was just thinking to upgrade to Emax ECO 2207 2400kv motors but i checked the peak current rating for it is nearly 40Amps, i dont wont to invest more in ESC is there any possible way to limit the motors to 35Amps..
Or please suggest motors which are good enough and would work fine with my Rev BS-35A esc

-personal- i would mount the vtx on the bottom, if not possible on 4standoffs, by doubleside tape.
doubleside tabe to mount the receiver on the topplate of the frame.
probably additional ziptie around frame, receiver and vtx.
not practice friendly to mount something on the topplate, but i choose it often.

your esc is rated for peak current of 40a for 10seconds.
buddies flew this esc in the past, they describe it as very nice, very durable and inexpensive - as rocksolid... they are fast racers, this esc seems proofed to me.
with which prop does the eco 2207 reach 40amps? the wrong prop could increase the ampdraw.
-i- would go for it without fear on this esc, seems perfectly matching.

probably the emax eco 2306 has a lower ampdraw? could be another option

44a peak on the wrong prop, on the most props less than 40a peak. unless you go for a prop pitch of 50 or more, you should be fine, to use a high pitched blade; you can settup a motoroutput limit

I have bunch of Dalprop T5045C Pro what would be the peak current with this prop, do you guys have any idea?
Thanks alot for your answers, it is a big relief that throwing more money on ESC is not needed..

Finally my build is complete, just need to get some 3d printed parts of vtx antenna and reciever antenna’s rear mount.. i tried to search alot for the 3D STL file for antenna mount which geprc is shipping with their complete kit but no sucess, do anyone have that printable file or something very similar to it..
Also please let me know if i can see the distance of flight without a gps module on my OSD?
Also please suggest GPS module, shall i buy GPS only or the one with magnetometer for compass, is compass really useful?

you can see in my posted link, the dalprop 5046 has 36,8a max current, the 5045 will be nearley the same, a bit less. this will work for sure.
