Mobula8 Motor Direction
#1
Hey Everyone,

My Mobula8 is acting strange after replacing my frame. The two motors in the front are spinning props out, but the rear motors are spinning props in. It shows the default setting should be props out all around.

Currently I am unable to hover without it shooting straight up in the air. I have not attempted using the goggles yet, as I want to be able to hover in angle mode without a fly away.

This is my second frame replacement, the first one I did not have any issues with. I thought I may have put the motors in the wrong location so I pulled off my props and checked the motor direction on the bench using Betaflight.

My last flight before replacing the frame was fine, I even flew it back into my house LOS after I took my goggles off.

When I went to install a new antenna I noticed two of the standoffs for the AOI were broken. That was when I ordered another frame.

Swapping any two of the three motor wires will change the direction of the motor. That may have caused the issue you're seeing. It will also fix it. Alternatively you can change the motor direction using an ESC configurator.

Just swap them in esc configurator. You probably plugged two of the motors that spin the opposite way in the wrong order.

Happymodel motors tend to have two motors with red dots on the connectors. Red dots usually spin say CCW instead of CW. So when you build and use those motors remember the two red dots go opposite each other and the two without opposite to each other. but if you mess it up, go into ESC Configurator and reverse those motors to get spin direction uniform again. Smile

I swapped the motors around and now they are spinning in the correction direction.

Thank you both helping me out today.

Now I just need to wait for the rain to stop to get back out there.
Thanks,
