Massive Droner or Banggod 3"
#1
These frames look amazing. I like how it's not the typical school bus. I understand they are probably finicky to work on, but with a roll-cage like frame, how often would that be necessary?

After all I'm going through to completely *rebuild my TinyHawk 2 Freestyle, I may just use this frame instead.

*Hifionrc F7 25A, Goku 625VTX, R-sxr, haven't decided on motors...I'll use the stock 1103 7000kv till I smoke them, I'm guessing it won't be long.

So, who's got a Massive Droner? Banggod? How did you build it? Motor size?

Edit-

Now looking at the Banggod 3" frame, I think I might prefer top mount batteries...

i used a catalyst machineworks massive droner 3inch in the past, used it for racing with very good results about performance and durability. it took several crashes in the parkhouse.
i used it with 1306 3100kv motors on 4s. 1103 is to small xD

the top is with vertical carbon, skinny. seems not made for topmount tp me, you moght need a custom print. overall i guess topmount will decrease the durability.
the amssive droner flew just fantastic with bottommounted battery, give it a try befor you do a lot work to turn this ;-)

i can fully suggest this frame, its old but a nice piece of framedesign :-)

(couldnt see it but the banggod 3inch might be much more heavy from the topplate?)

Yeah, I kinda realized the Massive Droner is a bottom mount. I'm sure it wouldn't be practical to switch it up.

I've already edited the title of this thread, but now I'm looking at the Acrobrat Duo. That looks like it's also built like a tank, and a Solo at that (VTX humor?)

Like mentioned, the school bus style frame is..boring. These roll cage like frames look sick, and seems they would be extremely durable, both the frame, and to protect the hardware.

I'm already confused lol, any more recommendations on a 3 inch non cookie cutter frame?

what impressed me on the massive droner is the durability in comparison to the low weight. low weight is a main focus of mine.
i guess the other named frames will be +10 or even more?

the others mightbe a good choice if you doesnt bother weight and performance that much, or like to choose big motors like 1408/1506 this direction?.?

whats your main focus?
a tomoquads el camino could be another tanky, spacy and durable freestyle platform.

the most awesome frame would be 4inch :-) ronins sepukku :-) not mass production, unique and with the full build progress :-)

My main focus? Durability, and flight time.

Maybe I'm gun shy, but I didn't have the best luck with my TH2 Freestyle. Some, was newby error, I crashed, maybe a lot. I was not gentle on the throttle either. Frankly, I kinda beat the living crap out of that thing. I have more in replacement Emax AIO's than the price of all my quads combined. Ok, I only own 2, but...still.

I really don't need it to go 192mph top speed, with 20 seconds of battery life. i would rather have more flight time. Maybe 60 tops, for 7 or 8? Arbitrary numbers, but, you get the idea.

I used to get about 8 minutes with the Freestyle, I was pretty happy with that. I know it did at least 30mph, I could pass cars in town very easily, from a safe distance, of course.

As like many, I want it all, and I want it now! ?

we know the diatone gtr-349 can pass 180kph, with 3750kv on 4s. for 30mph you should be fine by 2500kv :-) very low. to get flighttime, a 1404 with 3000-4000kv 3s would make sense, you should still reach 30mph easy ;-)

durability and flighttime bites eachother, that make me believe the low weight massive droner would be the best. its still a durable frame. should take some crashes on a low weight lipo.

the gnb 1100mah 3s lipo should get you in the air for 8min gently-cruising, gently freestyle.

i got 8min out of a 450mah 2s on my 1404 3850kv airblade superman motors with gemfan 3040x3 backthan. it was on a tomoquads kamikaze frame, the buildweight was about 110g-120g.
