Lost VTX as soon as I triggered RTH
#1
So I was testing my GPS RTH by doing a semi-long range flight. I had about 8 sats connected. Flew far away from where I was standing. Then 1 second after I flick the switch for RTH, my picture in my goggles freezes. You can see in the video at the very end the quad goes into RTH mode. Why did my video cut out as soon as I turned the quad into RTH mode, I had a few flights before this but not very far away and RTH worked well and I still had VTX working the whole time.

Note that the video has the arrow direction in the opposite direction and you cannot see the sats connected for some reason.

Using a caddx vista with latest wtfos hack.

Hope you managed to recover your drone. It is not normal behavior for the vtx to stop working while in RTH, best to check if any wires physically came loose or disconnected during the climb. Also if you had blackbox logging enabled, maybe that might have some clues.
Your video did not show any freezing, it just cuts off after the drone starts to climb. If you goggles feed froze, possible there is an issue with the goggles, but that seems odd as the DVR is from the goggles?

I checked the black box all i can see is my RC stick commands and gyro data etc, but is there anyway to see the black box logs for the GPS?

Never had any problems in the past with the videos freezing in the goggles like that.

And yes I got it back in the end with the help of a buzzer, I disarmed and turned off RTH as soon as I lost video, not gunna risk that.

Yes good you were over an open field as well. I don't believe you will get any GPS data unless you set it specifically in the debug mode. However you may see any abnormal attitude/altitude changes after you started RTH that might have affected the VTX. Assume the VTX and all connections were intact when you found the drone, which makes it even more of a mystery.
