Lipo got bloated while trying to kill it
#1
Hello
I kind of need urgent advice,
I have bad lipo which i wanted to dispose and use lipo killer(uruav).
After more than 24 hours cells shows this results:0,4.8,4.8
And got more bloated as it was when i started.
Im afraid it will catch fire.
How can i dispose it asap safely??

Thanks in advance

Wow - were the cell voltages that high before you tried to kill it? If not I would be very wary of that lipo killer.

Anyway, first things first: get it away from anything you don't want to be on fire (home, belongings, pets, children). Keep it in an ammo box or a metal can by itself in the shed, or something. Next - the cells are so imbalanced that you probably won't be able to discharge it through your lipo charger. It sounds like a 3S, so I'd make yourself a discharger out of a 12V car lightbulb and an XT60 connector. Plug it in and leave it somewhere that it can safely get hot (and it *will* get hot).

Here's some more details: https://www.propwashed.com/safely-discha...o-battery/

The ground is for dead people.

Thanks,
So strange it was in storage mode 3.8 for all of the cells, and i thought that this is what the killer should do,
But will try what that article suggests

Thanks alot

To add, if you have any sand then have some of that nearby to where you are discharging the LiPo. If it does then catch fore for any reason you can dump sand over it to bury it and dispel some of the (chemically induced) flames.

I also use a light bulb. I actually use my smoke stopper and short the plug that goes into the quad. This pretty much make the same device Banelle mentioned without having to make it.
