LiPo Charging Voltage Changes
#1
Hey guys,
i got a short question regarding LiPo Charging. I want to store my LiPo at 3.8V for each cell so i used my D6 Pro Charger which has a store option. After the charger finished the Voltage was at around 3,82V but not exactly at 3,8 V. After waiting for a minute the Voltage came up to around 3.86V where it stayed. Is this normal (third time ever charging a lipo). Afterwards i uses the Balance option to bring all cells to 3.8v but again it only went down to around 3,82 and then stopped charging/discharging. After a minute again up to around 3,85. Are these voltage changes normal or do i have to do something about that.
Any advice would be awesome.

This is normal.

I’ve got 2 different chargers. One charges to 3.83v and one charges to 3.8v per cell. I can’t change it so I end up with slightly different storage charges. Hasn’t seemed to matter.

3.8V is just the "sweet spot" for a balance charged cell. If the cell voltages are slightly under or slight over 3.8V during storage then it makes no difference to the life of the battery.

Ok, thank u very much. Is there a way to bring the voltage down to 3,8v an then keep it at that voltage? Is it because of my Lipo Charher (about 100€) ? Or does it have to do with the Lipo? Sorry for my english skills. xD

Even the most calibrated hobby grade charger will struggle to get you exact 3.8v per cell.

Even if the charger stops the charging/balancing at exact 3.8v the lipo chemistry will react and balance itself due to several environmental factors.

Just don't your sleep over this.
