"Lightest" motor for 6" or 7" LEAF
#1
I'm still shopping around for parts for my "LEAF"
6"/7" toothpick build. There are new props and motors now:

Intended props:
GF 6026
Avan 6038 - https://www.racedayquads.com/products/em...53eb&_ss=r
GF LR 7035 - https://www.airbladeuav.com/collections/...p-set-of-4

Motor:
Amax 2305.5 23g!?
https://www.racedayquads.com/products/am...50kv-motor

Flywoo 2303.5 21g
https://www.racedayquads.com/products/fl...295f&_ss=r

Lumenier Chief 2005 17g?
https://www.getfpv.com/lumenier-2005-200...motor.html

T-Motor 2203.5 17g.
probably too small.

I'm leaning towards the $15 Amax due to the $20 cost of Flywoo, and my ehem.. quality issues.
Customer support is friendly, the NIN 1404 is good, but I have drawer of dead AIO FCs.

Hi Roman!

I'm also working on the same goal - a lightweight 6-7" frame that flies loooooong (20min+ with a naked GoPro) - but great - while using the DJI digital FPV system. I've been designing a few prototypes of frames that are trying to find a sweet spot between stiffness and weight. My latest designs end up at aroung 70g for 6", and 100g for 7".

I was starting out with 2004 motors and sub250g on a 7" - i couldn't get it to fly halfway decent.
Then i switched over to a 6" frame and 2203.5 T-Motor with 1500kv. This was working quite well, but with 4s Li-Ion and 350g AUW i was only getting around 20-25mins of flighttime. With a naked GoPro more like 15-17. I probably would be able to save another 20g or so, but i don't think this will drastically change the picture.

I fear that the switch from 2203.5 to 2303.5 won't provide much better results than what i got. Also is recommend lower kv numbers (1500kv and below). However tt really depends on your overall AUW and the cell amount. Can you provide a little more information what you've got planned for your build?

My next approach will be trying out the iFlight Xing2 2604 motors with 1350kv on 7". With 32g (+ around 3g for a longer wire) these are still much lighter than the usual 2806 motors used on large LR rigs.

the brotherhobby 2004 will be the most lightweight option.
there is the hglrc 2105, which won be the lightest but might be a good size for 6inxh

Chris Lemire got like 30min+ with Mamba 2204 1400KV.

By far, I think the super light carbon fiber 7035 props give the advantage.

His 7" toothpick got under 250g AUW with battery, with Brotherhobby 2004 - but didn't fly too good.

His recent video is using StanFPV 2604. Nice big EZO bearing. But, these are very very expensive.

I have the FPVCycle2204, but using them on PodRacer5".
For 7", I think I need motors closer to 30g.
Right now, my gut is saying to go with reliable smooth Smoox 2306.5
