Hi all, getting a bit discouraged as a new flyer here. Got a zohd drift, something cheap to start with after practicing on simulators. Ended up in a very tall tree almost immediately. Very touchy controls. I've sinced learned how to set the sensitivity on the fs-i6x tx.
Saw people recommending the fs kopilot, return to home, stabization, sounds great for a newb.
Watched about a dozen videos. Everything is connected properly. As soon as I attach battery the kopilot starts a slow beep. No response to any tx inputs. The word "beep" doesn't exist in the kopilot instructions. It sometimes spases out and throws the L aileron all the way down and the right one up half way. Zohd customer service completely unresponsive. Getfpv.com (where I ordered it) support is "temporarily unavailable" during advertised hours...
Its a zohd Drift, kopilot lite, flysky ia6b rx, and a flysky i6x tx. The esc came with the Drift preinstalled.
With just the Rx connected to the servos directly, it works fine.
As soon as I put the kopilot in the loop via PWM (one connector going across top 4 pins on Rx, one connector on chan5 per instructions for PWM, other end in pwm slot on kopilot. It might beep, sometimes jiggles the servos like it's in RTH mode, never any throttle.
I've got channel 5 set to switchC and failsafe set to channel 5 -100% (up position) on the tx. I'm not sure how it specifies stabilize and manual modes in addition on the 3 position switch that it is, but that's what YouTube said to do.
There's leds on the kopilot that indicate if it's in stab, RTH, or manual fly mode etc. It's indicating "balance mode" but it doesn't change with aforementioned switch C.
The settings pad is supposed to have a process to change wing type (Twing, Vwing, etc) hold the set button 5 sec, lights blink, scroll to different light combos for wing type. It never blinks. It's completely unresponsive, just constantly beeps.
Is it just defective or is something missed ? Honestly getting really frustrated with it.
Thanks in advance.
