Jumper R1F hacked inversion
#16
Stick input was never the problem. Getting telemetry was the issue.

Interesting, so you have all your stick signals coming through to the flight controller ok, but no telemetry back to your transmitter?

I was not sure if you were asking me or Crease this question.  If it was me, I was able to get stick control with my initial hack where Crease has it.

Only limited telemetry items on my Jumper T16 but RC input is great. I'm not that familiar with what beta flight telemetry should be outputting. See the pictures below. What's the next step I should try? Or is this what I should be seeing?

Frsky telemetry should be over 10 sensors.  You don't see any of the sensor from the FC going back to the radio.

It’s hard to know what’s happening without looking at the signal on the scope, it’s either telemetry not being enabled in betaflight or something weird going on with the output buffer on the receiver. I had assumed it just looks for the terminating characters in the telemetry data and then enables the transmit side sending the stick inputs back to the flight controller, it’s possible there is some hardware detection controlling the buffer enable which is broken doing the connection this way. You wouldn’t have an oscilloscope handy would you @CREASE?

I do not have a scope. Hmmmm. I would love one. What's the cheapest way to get something basic? Like this on Amazon I could afford and let me do basic stuff, like this. https://amzn.to/36zVKAZ

FYI, I updated my previous post with pictures. I had one idea, would it help to have a pull down instead of a pull up?

I could just do the @Mahatmajman method and call it done........ but I'm kind of curious why this method isn't working. It should!? right?

That scope would probably do the job, the serial baud rate for fport is only 115200bps. But yes, I’m not sure why that isn’t working. I don’t think a pull down is going to make any difference, in fact with the inverting buffers still in place the pull up probably isn’t necessary either. I suppose it depends on how soon you want to fly with the receiver :-)

Its only an 85MM whoop. I can fly in the backyard as is and the chance of crashing is no more likely than it is normally, LOL.

I found this on flyingtech.co.uk and I knew it wasn't going to get telemetry working, but I tried it anyways. And yeah, only RC control worked. Screw it, I'm going to remove both C04J chips, jump the pins, and call it done.

It turned out great @Mahatmajman! Not the easiest, but not that hard, and now I have telemetry on a whoop. Thanks for your tutorial man.
