I crashed before and I broke my FPV camera, that's alright, nothing fancy, but today I've crashed and I took the bullet right into the Gopro session 5, that's hurt, a lot! Not sure if Oscar will count this as valid for the Crash badge but, man, it hurts! Well, now lets try to get a lens cover replacement or a DYI fix if available ☺ Posts: 21,297 Threads: 589 Likes Received: 8,983 in 6,648 posts Likes Given: 1,426 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 789 That's pretty bad luck. It wasn't even a heavy crash. Looks like a rock was just in the wrong place at the wrong time On my RunCam 5 I have a tempered glass screen protector attached to the front. I've not looked but I'm sure you can get something similar for the GoPro Session 5. While it won't stop a smashed screen in a really heavy impact, it does act as a scratch protector and it adds an extra sacrificial layer of absorption which may save the actual screen in a low/medium impact. Probably something worth looking into. • Posts: 265 Threads: 24 Likes Received: 85 in 61 posts Likes Given: 11 Joined: Aug 2019 Reputation: 3 (17-Feb-2020, 06:11 PM)SnowLeopardFPV Wrote: That's pretty bad luck. I'm defintely getting a couple or maybe 6 of them now! The down side is that I can't record more HD videos for about one month until the lens cover arrives. Man, living down here sucks! Thanks for your inputs! • Posts: 4,731 Threads: 392 Likes Received: 3,231 in 1,827 posts Likes Given: 3,214 Joined: Apr 2019 Reputation: 101 Yea dude you hit the ground at the perfectly wrong angle or something. XD I still need to build another couple of quads before the leap to long range, because I want it to be 7". Here is a picture of the waterfall I want to conquer so bad (Instagram Link, sorry) https://www.instagram.com/p/BbIHrmSlifZ/...2ubs4a3syp I took that pic with my late Phantom 4 Pro. By the way, the ambient noise is low in here, it's pretty much a jungle. ☺ Edit: To add more tragedy to this post, I just realize that I left a battery behind that day, it seems like I was so stupidity focused I to the camera that I forgot to put it back in the bag |
