Is there a way to run TBS Agent X on Linux ? (Crossfire)
#1
Question
I am running on linux only pc.
I have managed to run Betaflight, BlHeli and more using their online versions in Chrome.
But I am realizing that I am dependent in the TBS Agent X software on my pc in order to update and start my journey with Crossfire.

Has snybody heard about a way to overcome it ?

(I have tries using WINE app in Linux, but the text is transparent, i.e. not seen at all. If somebody did manage to access it via WINE, I will try to find a solution for that invisible text)

Thnx

There is no way that I'm aware of. I believe the only way around it will be to install and run Windows in a VM like VirtualBox.

Only really for firmware updates. All of the other settings can be configured via the Crossfire LUA script or the new Agent X Lite LUA script from your transmitter.

Im a linux user too, I got a virtualbox vm with windows 8 almost only for Agent X.

Betaflight/Jesc/BLHELI/Emuflight all have linux versions of the apps. As SnowLeopard said, all other Crossfire/Tracer configuration can be done with the new TBS Agent that runs in your OpenTX

not sure if it works, but wine would be more easy: http://www.winehq.org/

Yep, and then I gona need license key, right ?
so it's not an option for now.
and accidently, the hard drive with Windows on it has just fallen of the table and now I don't have windows anymore.
the WINE started ok, but some of the text is not seen etc...
but i'll give it another try.

You can install Windows 10 for free without a license key and it will just remain "unactivated". After 30 days if Windows hasn't been activated with a valid license key an "Activate Windows" watermark will be displayed in the bottom right of the screen that you can't get rid of unless you activate the Windows installation. An "unactivated" Windows install doesn't stop you using Windows, but it does stop some features being used such as wallpaper, themes and other personalisation/customisation settings but you still get all the Windows updates and you can still run programs. So that should be good enough for you to use for running TBS Agent X and some other software that can only be run on Windows.

You need to enable USB passthrough for the device so that the guest Windows 7 OS inside the VM host can see it.

Fire up the Windows 7 VM, plug your Crossfire Micro TX into your computer, then in VirtualBox go to the Devices -> USB menu and select the Crossfire Micro TX device. It should then be visible to Windows 7 inside the VM.

Theoretically, its true.
but it's not that simple (you know, linux....)
